Aug 12, 2015 | by Jean Thrash

The Arkansas Department of Corrections says an inmate who died in a cell at the East Arkansas Regional Unit apparently took his own life.

Investigators from the Arkansas State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Public information officer Cathy Frye says the death appears to have been a suicide. The 44-year-old man was serving a four-year sentence for a theft-of-property conviction out of Marion County.
