The state agency that handles juvenile corrections wants to open a charter school in its secure facilities in Tecumseh and Manitou.

Local school districts currently contract with the Office of Juvenile Affairs to provide the educational programming at the facilities. But the agency wants to take the reins on educating the youth itself and sever ties with the Tecumseh and Tipton school districts.
