Another Suicide In Arkansas Prison

The Arkansas Department of Correction says a 37 year old prisoner has died of an apparent hanging. This marks the 3rd. reported suicide since August at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Marianna.

MARIANNA, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas Department of Correction says a state prison inmate has died of an apparent hanging.

Department spokeswoman Cathy Frye says 37-year-old Jackson County man (Violation of DWI 4th Offense) was found about 8:30 p.m. Saturday hanging by a bed sheet that was twisted around his neck. Frye says medical staff were unable to resuscitate Summers and that his death is believed to be a suicide.
