Second Death As Possible Suicide

Second suicide at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police in less than two months

Last month the Arkansas Department of Corrections said an inmate who died in a cell at the East Arkansas Regional Unit apparently took his own life. Investigators from the Arkansas State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the 44-year-old man’s death.

A month later, a second suicide is being investigated at the East Arkansas Regional Unit of a 25 year old Phillips County man who was being held at the prison since March 16. Phillips County leases space at the prison unit.
